Atlee charges a whopping Rs 40 crore for SRK’s film?
As Atlee’s Bigil is all set to hit the screens this Friday, talks about the director’s next project with Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan have already taken the internet by storm. The film is in its pre-production stages and is set to go on floors in December. Meanwhile, tinseltown grapevine has it that the filmmaker is likely to demand Rs 40 crore as remuneration for his Bollywood directorial debut. A source in K’town told DTNext, “Atlee’s remuneration for Bigil was Rs 25 crore. Though he had asked for Rs 40 crore, we believe that SRK has finalised a remuneration of Rs 30 crore for Atlee. This would also depend on Bigil’s box office collection. Until then, the numbers are just baseless speculations.” The rumours of Atlee and Shah Rukh Khan had first surfaced after they were spotted together at an IPL match in Chennai earlier this year.
Later, there were also rumours that the Bollywood actor would be doing a cameo in Vijay and Nayanthara-starrer Bigil.
Moreover, Atlee’s film with SRK will be an original script.”Atlee wrote the script sometime ago and it’ll be a complete action entertainer. SRK liked Atlee’s vision. Hence, he decided to bankroll the film and play the lead,” the source adds.
