Four detained under Goondas Act

CHENNAI: Four persons, including a manja thread seller, were detained under the Goondas Act. R Gnanasekaran (53) of Old Washermenpet, who was known for selling manja threads, was booked under several sections in 2014. However, he reportedly moved to Tiruvallur after that and continued to produce manja thread and kites. Recently, his house was raided and five kg of glass pieces that is used to make manja thread, was seized apart from kites. He was arrested again and detained under Goondas Act on Thursday. Three other repeated offenders were also detained.
