Give weightage to temporary veterinary graduates: Federation
CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Veterinary Graduates Federation on Thursday demanded the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission to give weightage for temporary veterinary graduates absorbed by the Animal Husbandry Department and also demanded age relaxation for applicants as TNPSC has not conducted exams and recruitment for the past 10 years. Tamil Nadu Veterinary Graduates Federation, coordinator M Balaji in a letter to Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Secretary urged the official to recommend the TNPSC to provide age relaxation for candidates represented as (Others - not belonging to SCs, SC (A)s, STs, MBCs /DCs and BCMs) while applying for the post of veterinary assistant surgeons (VAS) in Animal Husbandry Department. Hence, the association request to State providing age relaxation to “Others” as that of communal categories in 69 per cent quota to ensure social justice. Now, there is a clause restricting the forward community students against social justice. The State should also recommend TNPSC to consider the VAS on contract basis serving for the animal husbandry department since 2018.
