Surprise checks likely inside bars, eateries: LG

PUDUCHERRY: Lt. Governor Kiran Bedi on Sunday said that with bars getting opened, the excise police will be making surprise checks and conduct video recording about observance of protocol inside the bars and eateries for examining the violations. In a message on social media, she said that legal action will be initiated on the merits of each case and even licences will be suspended. She said, 44 COVID deaths were reported in the UT last week. It means the 44 persons had committed a mistake, either by not wearing masks, maintain social distancing or sanitising themselves. Mask is a social medicine, she said, adding that it is very important that one should wear it while going out. Bedi said Puducherry is conducting the maximum Coronaviru­s tests which crossed 5000 a day now.
