TNEA general category counselling to begin today

CHENNAI: The counselling for general candidates seeking engineering admissions would begin on Thursday and go on till October 11.

According to the schedule released by the Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), the candidates who secured ranks from 1 to 23,263 (aggregate marks between 199.667 and 175) will take part in the first round. The tentative allotment for these candidates would be announced on October 14 and the provisional allocation would be published on October 16.

Candidates ranked between 23,264 and 35,167 (aggregate marks between 174.75 and 145.5) would take part in the second round from October 12 to October 15. Tentative allotment and provisional allocation would be published on October 18 and October 20 respectively.

Those who secured ranks between 35,168 and 70,300 (aggregate marks between 145 and 111.75) would participate in the third round from October 16 to October 19. Tentative allotment and provisional allocation would be published on October 22 and October 24 respectively.

The final and fourth round of counselling would be held from October 20 to October 23 for those ranking between 70,301 and 1,10,873 (aggregate marks between 111.5 and 77.5). Their tentative allotment would be published on October 26 and provisional allocation on October 28.

In the counselling schedule, the DoTE said counselling vocational courses would be held from October 8 to October 11, in which candidates who secured rank between 1 and 1,533 (aggregate marks between 196.83 and 87.5) would participate. Publication of tentative allotment for these students would be on October 14 and declaration of provisional allocation on October 14.
