Schools reopened in Pondy, Karaikal on experimental basis: CM
PUDUCHERRY: Chief Minister V Narayanasamy on Thursday clarified that the schools in Puducherry and Karaikal regions of the Union Territory were reopened on Thursday on an experimental basis.
In a virtual press conference, he said that schools were not reopened totally here and the opposition parties are spreading wrong information in this regard. Classes will be held only for 10th and 12th standards since, the students will have to appear for the board examination in March next, he said.
The Chief Minister said that rural students are not comfortable with the online classes since the internet facility in villages are not up to the mark and they could come to the school to get their doubts clear.
The students are allowed by adhering to guidelines like sanitisation, checking temperature, wearing masks and maintaining social distancing. If it was found that the students are getting affected, then the government will reconsider its decision, he added.
