Bengal bizman dies of cardiac arrest at airport

CHENNAI: A 73-year-old man died of cardiac arrest before boarding his flight to Kolkata at the airport here on Friday evening. The deceased was identified as Shibdas, a businessma­n from West Bengal. Shibdas, who was suffering from cancer, came for treatment at the Vellore CMC a two weeks ago. On Friday, he was discharged from the hospital and reached the Chennai airport for boarding 7 pm Spicejet flight. Around 6 pm, he was standing in the queue for security checkup when he developed chest pain and fell unconsciou­s. The airport medical team who rushed to the spot checked Shibdas and declared him died of sudden cardiac arrest. The airport police sent the body for post-mortem and informed his family in West Bengal.
