2-year-old boy goes missing from Erode footpath; kidnap suspected

A two-year-old boy, who was sleeping along the footpath with his parents in Erode district had gone missing triggering fears of abduction by unidentified persons on Sunday night. The boy, identified as Dhilli, was found missing by his parents Ammasai, 28 and Thilaga, 27 in the middle of night. They were among the several families of nomads staying along on footpath near Gobichettipalayam bus terminus in Erode district. The couple has three sons aged seven, two and one, besides a five-year-old daughter. The couple and their children had gone to sleep around 9 pm. In the middle of night, they woke up and found Dhilli missing and made a futile search in the surrounding areas. On receiving information, Gobichettipalayam police arrived and held inquiries. Police have been carrying out a search with the photo of the missing boy.
