Woman, husband arrested for cheating 3 banks with fake documents

A couple, who took personal and vehicle loans for Rs 48 lakh from three nationalised banks by pledging fake documents were arrested by Erode police on Sunday. According to police, Karthik and his wife Radha from Erode bought two cars worth Rs 48 lakh through separate vehicle loans in addition to huge amounts of personal loans from three nationalized banks in Erode district. As they defaulted in payment of interest, the bank officials visited their house and found it to be a fake address. On further examination, the bank authorities also found all the documents furnished by the couple to be fake. Based on a complaint from the officials of the three banks, the crime branch police registered a case and picked up the couple from Coimbatore on Sunday. A case was registered against them for cheating and their two cars were seized. The fraudulent couple were produced in court and lodged in jail.
