Man succumbs to injuries after diving into Pulicat lake

CHENNAI: A 40-year-old man who attempted to dive inside the Pulicat lake sustained severe head injuries and died two weeks after the incident. He came along with his friends on April 4 after the company declared one week leave due to the pandemic. The man, identified as Beema Buiyan was trying various stunts with his friends when he got stuck in the mud and suffered neck injuries. Though he was rushed to Ponneri hospital and later shifted to Stanley Medical College he died in hospital on Tuesday. Based on a complaint from his son Vijay, Thirupalaivanam police registered a case and are investigating.
