DMK environmental wing to fulfill Vivek’s mission to plant 1 cr saplings

The DMK’s environmental wing has planned to fulfill the desire of actor Vivek to plant one crore saplings. The actor, who passed away few days ago, had launched the ‘Green Kalam’ project, a massive tree planting drive with an aim to plant one crore saplings. “So far, Vivek had planted 37 lakh saplings. We will now take up his noble act to plant saplings to reach one crore saplings,” said Karthikeya Sivasenapathy, secretary of DMK’s environment wing in a statement. Karthikeya, who had contested from Thondamuthur Assembly constituency against Minister SP Velumani said that the plantation drive will be taken up after discussions with well-wishers of Vivek and also sought the cooperation of public to accomplish the task.
