Nadda equates DMK with corruption, dynasty politics

-

COIMBATORE: BJP national president JP Nadda on Wednesday slammed the DMK by terming it as a party synonymous with corruption and dynasty politics.

“Corruption and dynasty politics in DMK are like two sides of the same coin,” he said, while addressing the state executive committee meeting in Tirupur. He inaugurated the party’s office in Tirupur, besides opening offices virtually in Tirunelveli, Tirupattur and Erode districts.

Pointing out that even those political parties with ideology have been reduced to family parties everywhere from Kashmir to down south; Nadda said that this issue has become an emerging challenge nationwide.

“It happened in Haryana, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.

This is a serious challenge to democracy in more than 70 years. In Tamil Nadu, the challenge has become even more grave as democratic institutions are under threat,” he said.

Further, the BJP leader said that all development works started with the support of the Centre are either throttled or stopped to divert the state from the path of progress.

“All the progressive steps are being stopped to deviate from the development process. This may not be good for people of Tamil Nadu. But it is done for the good of the party’s family rule,” he added.

Alleging that the DMK has destroyed the cultural values of Tamil Nadu, Nadda said that BJP is the only ray of hope to root out the DMK and provide clean and transparent governance.

“BJP stands for democratic culture, ethos, Tamil culture and language,” he said. Noting down that BJP believes that ideology propagation takes place from office, Nadda said that it is a place where we have discussion, deliberation, planning and go forward in making the party stronger. “But other parties are running the party from their house. If their family is gone, then both the party and office will disappear,” he added.

Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy L Murugan, Legislature party leader in the Assembly Nainar Nagendran and Mahila Morcha National president Vanathi Srinivasan were among those who were present.
