CPCL staff found dead inside inundated house in Manali

A 45-year-old man was found dead inside his inundated house in Manali on Thursday. The police suspect that he could have fallen off the bed when he was asleep and could have died unable to breathe in the stagnant water. The deceased, S Jayagopi of Chinna Sekkadu, was a fitter at CPCL and was residing in a house at Devarajan street with his wife Senthamarai. While Senthamarai left for her parents’ house after their house was inundated due to heavy rains, she returned home on Thursday morning. To her shock, Jayagopi was found lying unconscious in knee-deep water inside the house. On information, the fire and rescue personnel from Manali rushed to the spot and retrieved his body. Manali police sent it for post-mortem examination and have registered a case. Further investigation is on.
