Bharat Bandh: Railways restricts platform tickets

Issuing of platform tickets has been ‘restricted’ in Chennai Railway division with immediate effect until further orders. A notificati­on issued by the division said that in view of the proposed Bharat Bandh and to safeguard the safety and security of passengers, the issuing of platform tickets is restricted at all railway stations in Chennai division of Southern Railway (SR), until further orders.

The SR has requested passengers and general public to kindly cooperate with it, in upholding the safety of rail users and railway property.

Train cancellati­on

Due to the students agitation (against Agnipath scheme) in Bihar, Southern Railway has notified the cancellati­on of Train no 22149 Ernakulam junction - Pune Express and Train no 12390 Dr MGR Chennai Central and Gaya of June 21. Train no 12521 Barauni - Ernakulam, Train no 15228 Muzaffarpu­r Yesvantpur,

Train no 12295 KSR Bengaluru - Danapur and Train no 06509 KSR Bengaluru - Danapur Express, Train no 15930 New Tinsukia - Tambaram of June 20 and Train no 15929 Tambaram - New Tinsukia of June 23 also stand cancelled.

Nagersol weekly reintroduc­ed

Railway Board has approved the reintroduc­tion of weekly express trains connecting Chennai Central and Nagersol. Train no 16003 Chennai Central Nagersol weekly expresses will leave Chennai Central on Sundays at 9.10 hrs on and from June 26. The train will reach Nagersol at 11.55 hrs the next day.

Train no 16004 Nagersol - Chennai Central weekly train will leave Nagersol on Mondays at 13.30 hrs on and from June 27 and reach Chennai Central at 15.30 hrs the next day. The train consists of three AC tier-II, three AC tierIII, 13 sleeper class and two general second class and two luggage/brake vans with accommodat­ion for differentl­y abled persons.
