TNPSC notifies Group I exam to fill 90 vacancies
NEW DELHI: The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) released a notification for the Combined Civil Services Examination - I (Group I) on Thursday to fill 90 vacancies encompassing positions such as Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police, and Assistant Commissioners (Commercial Taxes).
The aspirants can start registering for the Group I exam from March 28. The last date for application is on April 27, 2024, according to the commission. “The application correction window will function from May 2 to May 4. The preliminary exam will be held on July 13 (9.30 am to 12.30 pm) and the date of the main examination will be announced later at the time of the declaration of the results of the preliminary examination,” the notification read. “There are 16 vacancies in Deputy Collector posts while 23 vacancies in DSP posts, 14 vacancies in AC (Commercial Taxes) posts, 21 in Deputy Registrar of Cooperative services, 14 in Assistant Director of Rural Development, 1 in District Employment Officer and 1 in District Officer (Fire and Rescue Services). The number of vacancies notified is tentative and is liable to change before the publication of the prelims results.”
Applicants who are keen on appearing for the Group I exam can access comprehensive details regarding the eligibility criteria, age limit, application procedure, selection process, and salary structure on the official website www.tnpsc.gov.in.
Meanwhile, the commission has made a change in the syllabus for the Group I exam and it has published the revised syllabus.
The Mathematics subject which was in part 2 of the Group I syllabus has been deleted and the ‘Ethics and Integrity’ subject has been added to part 2.
