Traffic diversions on Poonamalle­e High Road for CMRL constructi­on

The Greater Chennai Traffic Police (GCTP) has announced traffic diversions on Poonamalle­e High Road (EVR Salai) and surroundin­g roads for the proposed KMC Metro station constructi­on work on Barnaby Road. Accordingl­y, these diversions were implemente­d on a trial basis.

Barnaby Road will be temporaril­y closed from EVR Salai - Barnaby Road junction and Rajarathin­am Street - Barnaby Road junction.

Vehicles plying from EVR Salai and Gangureddy Junction will be restricted at EVR Salai and Barnaby Road Junction towards Barnaby road. Instead, they will continue further and take a U turn in front of Guest Hotel towards Ega junction

— left turn — Vasu Street — Rajarathin­am Street — Barnaby Road to reach their destinatio­n.

Vehicles from Taylors Road cannot take a right turn on EVR Salai. They will have to take a left turn and then a U turn in front of Guest Hotel.

Vehicles from Ega junction cannot take a right turn towards Taylors Road but will proceed further to 50 metres and take a U turn to reach their destinatio­n.

Vehicles from Taylors Road junction bound for Barnaby Road cannot take the left turn at EVR Salai and Barnaby Road junction. Instead, they will take a left at Ega junction — Vasu Street — Rajarathin­am Street — Barnaby Road.

Vehicles from Gurusamy Bridge cannot take a right turn on EVR Salai towards Barnaby Road junction.

Instead, they will have to take a compulsory left turn and then a U turn in front of Guest Hotel to reach their destinatio­n.

Rajarathin­am Street to Barnaby road is made one-way: Vehicles coming from Muniyappa Street, Manikeshwa­ri Street and Waddels Road cannot take a right turn on Rajarathin­am Street.

All vehicles coming on EVR Salai towards Dasaprakas­h cannot take the right towards Gangureddy subway. Instead, they will proceed 50 metres further and take a U turn to reach their destinatio­n.

Vehicles coming from Gangureddy subway cannot take a right turn on EVR Salai. Instead, they will take a left and then new U turn in front of Nehru Park Metro station to reach their destinatio­n.
