The Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research (MAHER) is a Deemed to be University incorporating a consortium of institutions in Chennai and Kancheepuram. It is also approved by the University Grants Commission
Founded as Meenakshi Dental College and Hospital in Chennai in 1991 with the primary objective of serving the people, the institute was recognised by the UGC as Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research (MAHER) in 2003.
Currently, this higher education institution is certified A+ (CGPA: 3.50) by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), as a prestigious educational institution with a long tradition of excellence.
Under the aegis of MAHER, there are three constituent units at Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu -- the Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute (MMCHRI), Arulmigu Meenakshi College of Nursing (AMCON) and Faculty of Allied Health Sciences (FAHS); one unit at Maduravoyal, Chennai- Meenakshi Ammal Dental College and Hospital (MADCH) and Meenakshi College of Nursing (MCON) at Mangadu, Chennai providing exceptional education in the field of healthcare.
In addition to these campuses, there are also Faculties of Humanities and Science, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Yoga Science & Therapy on the main campus of MAHER at KK Nagar, Chennai.
Meenakshi Ammal Dental College and Hospital, a part of MAHER, stood 16th in the nation in 2023, ranked by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), which recognises the teaching approach, excellence in research, and multi-dimensionality of educational institutions at MAHER.
More than 400 experienced professors, lecturers, and more than 4,000 students are studying at MAHER and it has been providing them with the best technical education and research-oriented training for over 20 years through more than 80 subjects.
