The SRM educational institution’s digital Library helps students and faculty members to make use of the knowledge resources available in the university.
The Career Centre in SRM Institute of Science and Technology plays a vital role in making SRM a favoured destination for many national and international organizations to recruit fresh talent nurtured at the Institute. Continuous institute-industry interaction, pre-joining learning initiatives, and participating in industrial exhibitions, fairs, and seminars to promote useful interaction with the industries and alumni activities are some of the initiatives of the placement office.
Hence, it is not surprising that SRMIST has more than 60,000 students across its five campuses, which includes more than 1,000 international students from 64 countries. Every year, about 300 meritorious students are chosen under the Semester Abroad Program (SAP), and sent abroad to study a semester at prestigious universities. In all, SRMIST has this collaboration with around 230 universities worldwide.
The Central Library has more than three lakh books, 40,777 e-books and other e-journals, besides hundreds of magazines that the students can refer to. To ensure overall development of the youth who study here, there are also indoor and outdoor sports arenas established on the campuses. There are also artificial indoor stadia, and also football and cricket grounds. In addition, other facilities like gymnasium and other indoor facilities are also available for students.
Recognising its quality, the SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre was chosen by the Indian Council for Medical Research for research and development of COVID-19 vaccine when the pandemic was wreaking havoc across the world.
It also pays special attention to faculty development projects, curriculum development, and establishment of centres of excellence, and organises hackathons, seminars, competitions, etc. to continuously explore opportunities to develop faculty and students alike.
