Chetan Prakash joins CEL as CMD

Chetan Prakash Jain has taken over as chairman and managing director of Central Electronics Limited (CEL), a government of India enterprise that pioneers in the manufacture of solar photovoltaic cells at its Ghaziabad unit in Uttar Pradesh. Jain was earlier joint secretary and financial advisor, DSIR & CSIR, Ministry of Science & Technology. He has held several other important positions as well including that of executive director in Railway Board and general manager-HR in RVNL, a public sector undertaking of Railways.

Electronics brand boAt ropes in Shashwat Singh as CIO

Indian lifestyle electronics brand boAt has hired Shashwat Singh as its new chief information officer (CIO). Singh, who served as supply chain technology leader at consumer products company Kimberly Clark prior to joining boAt, took charge in his new role on May 14. He has over 15 years of experience in leading technology and digital organisations such as Kimberly Clark, Unilever, and Asian Paints.

Ola Electric hires Wayne Burgess as head of vehicle design

Ola Electric has announced the appointment of Wayne Burgess as head of Vehicle Design for its entire product range including scooters, bikes, and cars. He brings a wealth of international automotive design experience, having worked on some of the most legendary and iconic cars in automotive history including the Bentley Arnage in 1998, Aston Martin’s DB9 in mid 2000s, and more recently the Jaguar XF, F-Type, F-Pace SUV, XE and, others.

Tesla makes key appointments for India operations

Tesla has made key appointments for leadership operations in India. The company has appointed IIM Bangalore alumnus Manuj Khurana as its Policy and Business Development head for India operations. Khurana has previously worked with the likes of John Deere, Accenture, Invest India, and some other organisations. He also founded a company called NewMo, which is into consulting around new mobility.

Sarwant Singh joins Switch Mobility as president and CEO

Ashok Leyland-owned Switch Mobility UK has brought in Sarwant Singh as its president and chief planning officer (CPO) as well as the chief executive officer (CEO) of its mobility service arm, Ohm Global Mobility. Singh was a managing partner at consulting firm Frost & Sullivan. Ashok Leyland had previously acquired majority stake in Optare Group and renamed it as Switch Mobility as part of its drive towards electrification and new mobility services.
