Electronics production to grow 27.6 per cent

India’s electronics hardware production in 2011-12 is expected to grow by 27.6 per cent and cross Rs 1553.97 billion ($ 33 billion), according to the Economic Survey. The government, in the draft National Policy on Electronics, estimates the electronics system design and manufacturing industry to reach a turnover of $ 400 billion by 2020, involving investment of about $100 billion. This, in turn, will create employment opportunities for 28 million people.
