Bengaluru: Ac­tor-politi­cian Am­ba­reesh was cre­mated in the Kan­teer­ava Stu­dio which is si­t­u­ated in the Nand­hini Lay­out of the city, yes­ter­day His mor­tal re­mains were brought in the San­javeeni am­bu­lance af­ter it reached the HAL air­port from Mandya dis­trict in the noon to Kan­teer­ava Sta­dium. The body was then taken in a dec­o­rated truck along a 13-km stretch from Kan­teer­ava Sta­dium to Kan­teer­ava Stu­dio. Mean­time, Con­gress lead­ers Ghu­lam Nabi Azad, K C Venu­gopal, KPCC Pres­i­dent Di­nesh Gundu Rao, ac­tors Dar­shan, Ravi Shankar, Do­danna, Saadu Kok­ila, singer Vi­jay Prakash and many oth­ers paid their last re­spects. Af­ter the body was brought to Kan­teer­ava stu­dio, all his well-wish­ers, close ones and fam­ily mem­bers were given a wreath to place it in front of his mor­tal re­mains.

The last rites were per­formed by puro­hits (priests), who are also as­so­ci­ates of a prom­i­nent as­trologer Pan­dit Bhanu Prakash Sharma. Am­ba­reesh’s son Ab­hishek Gowda gave the ames to his mor­tal re­mains. Thou­sands of peo­ple had gath­ered across the streets as well as around the Kan­teer­ava Stu­dio to get the last glimpse of their beloved hero and a leader.
