All-new? Almost. It is called the Scooty Zest, TVS reluctant to part with the name. It is bigger than the regular Scooty Pep with lots of changes inside and out, including a revised chassis and new engine, both warranting an all-new tag. The styling is fresh, and overall the Zest looks pretty modern and up to date with some nice design cues, especially at the rear. The headlight is slightly bigger but retains the smiley design to connect with the Scooty brand.

What else? The speedometer is backlit now, the footboard gets a textured finish, and the stop light is now a snazzy looking LED unit. TVS has included a rear brake lock, a helpful feature that works well. The chassis has been revised to reduce overall WHAT IS IT? The Scooty Zest 110 marks the evolution of one of the most popular ladies’ scooters in the country. Fun to ride? Yes. The Scooty Zest 110 is just what automatic scooters should be – light, quick and nimble. The low-set handlebar, light weight and eager power delivery make it fun around corners, though the 10-inch wheels are a bit of a hindrance. The 130mm rear brake drum is larger than the 110mm front drum. TVS says most women users ignore the front brake, and rely entirely on the rear brake. However, the front brake could do with more bite.

Powerful? TVS claims the Scooty Zest 110 is the quickest in the compact scooter segment and will accelerate to 60kmph from standstill in 11.1 seconds. Revisions to the CVT transmission ensure smooth, linear acceleration. Top speed should be in the region of 80kmph given its kerb weight of 98.5kg

The most powerful ladies’ scooter has grown up

Efficient? TVS is claiming 62kmpl for the new scooter, which is identical to the Wego and Jupiter that are powered by the same engine. And the new gen TVS scooters are known to be reliable, which means living with them shouldn’t be expensive either.

Value? The Scooty Zest retails at ` 42,300 exshowroom, New Delhi. It is a great scooter for both women and men with its features, performance, handling and efficiency. With its features and competitive pricing, it promises more to automatic scooter buyers, specifically women.
