The easiest-to-ride, most practical and affordable Harley, the Street 750 was introduced to entice new and young riders in to the Harley-Davidson fold.

All-new?

What else?

What is it?

Cosmetic upgrades come in the form of a cafe-racer style headlamp shroud and Dark Custom styling. Fit and finish has now improved.

Harley-Davidson has addressed one of the biggest issues that plagued the Street 750 – brakes. The earlier version suffered from brake fade, lack of feel and inadequate performance. The 2016 model gets 300mm Brembos front and rear, bigger calipers and a new master cylinder. And it makes a big difference to retardation.

Fun to ride?

The Street 750 handles great and on the way to Lonavala from Mumbai as well as on the twisties leading up to Aamby Valley, the Street was the preferred steed due to its agility. The higher ground clearance meant it scraped its pegs far less. The absence of ABS is a serious oversight though

and I ended up locking the rear MRF’s a fair bit.

Powerful?

The Street 750 gets the liquid-cooled Revolution X motor which sounds sweet and is as smooth and responsive as a Jap V-twin. It also accelerates faster than its 883cc cousin.

Better brakes now rectify the Street’s biggest bug-bear

Efficient?

Harley claims 17.4kmpl for the Street 750 and with a 13-litre tank, that translates to a range of around 220km between fuel stops.

Value?

Priced at 4.52 lakh, the Street 750 makes for a tempting prospect as it carries the Harley badge with none of the associated idiosyncrasies. Now with the Dark Custom styling and upgraded brakes, the deal just got sweeter.
