IF YOU ARE A FAN OF THE pinnacle of luxury, you’d know by now that the S-Class has received a facelift. New bumpers, grille, bigger wheels, redesigned head and taillamp clusters, a new three spoke steering wheel, more interior colour options, it gets them all. What you need to know however is that this ocean liner has warped into a powerboat too. The S 63 AMG has given its 5.5-litre V8 the boot for the 4-litre biturbo V8 and this engine makes more power and torque than the AMG GT R. It makes a ludicrously high 603bhp of power and 900Nm of torque, and since AWD is essential to keep the big sedan glued to the road, it also goes to 100kmph from nought in 3.5 seconds. Option in the AMG driver’s package and the super sedan will sprint to 300kmph. If you are a fan of burning rubber and opposite lock, jump in joy. Right-hand drive S 63s will only be available as rearwheel drives.
