Yes, the Panigale V4 looks stunning, but check out what it’s packing – that’s equally impressive
EASILY THE MOST desirable motorcycle to be showcased at EICMA 2017 was the Ducati Panigale V4. The motorcycle marks a departure from the L-twins that have been in their flagship suspersport, only to make way for two more cylinders. The new ‘Stradale’ V4 engine nestled within the frame makes 210bhp, and that’s only in the base spec. The Panigale V4 will also be available in the V4 S and V4 Speciale spec that gets electronically adjustable Ohlins suspension (compared to the Showa & Sachs units on the standard bike), forged aluminium wheels, a lithium ion battery and a cast magnesium alloy subframe.
The Speciale also gets a tricolore livery, a power bump to 223bhp, and a whole lot of special bits like an ID number on the top yoke, carbonfibre mudguards, adjustable footpegs, a racing screen, a bike cover and a full racing Akrapovic exhaust system. The bike heralds a whole new age for the Ducati supersport, and it has already left an indelible mark by being voted the ‘Most Beautiful Bike’ of EICMA 2017.
