Yes, the Pani­gale V4 looks stun­ning, but check out what it’s pack­ing – that’s equally impressive


EAS­ILY THE MOST de­sir­able mo­tor­cy­cle to be show­cased at EICMA 2017 was the Du­cati Pani­gale V4. The mo­tor­cy­cle marks a de­par­ture from the L-twins that have been in their flag­ship sus­per­sport, only to make way for two more cylin­ders. The new ‘Stradale’ V4 en­gine nes­tled within the frame makes 210bhp, and that’s only in the base spec. The Pani­gale V4 will also be avail­able in the V4 S and V4 Spe­ciale spec that gets elec­tron­i­cally ad­justable Oh­lins sus­pen­sion (com­pared to the Showa & Sachs units on the stan­dard bike), forged alu­minium wheels, a lithium ion bat­tery and a cast mag­ne­sium al­loy sub­frame.

The Spe­ciale also gets a tri­col­ore liv­ery, a power bump to 223bhp, and a whole lot of spe­cial bits like an ID num­ber on the top yoke, car­bon­fi­bre mud­guards, ad­justable foot­pegs, a rac­ing screen, a bike cover and a full rac­ing Akrapovic ex­haust sys­tem. The bike her­alds a whole new age for the Du­cati su­pers­port, and it has al­ready left an in­deli­ble mark by be­ing voted the ‘Most Beau­ti­ful Bike’ of EICMA 2017.
