DUSTER GETS MORE AFFORDABLE
Renault’s most popular SUV is all set to become even more popular, post a near lakh rupee slide in its price
WHAT’S THE BEST thing a manufacturer can do to reward customers? Renault reckons the best way to keep customer interest alive in an excellent product is to pass on the benefits of localisation (read, lower cost of production) to the end consumer. As a result, its best-selling Duster range now starts at `7.95 lakh for the petrol and at `8.95 lakh for the base diesel variant.
While at the bottom of the Duster pyramid, you will now end up saving as much as `55,925 on the base variant, you can save up to a whopping lakh of rupees if you spring for the range-topping RXZ 108bhp AWD Diesel. The new prices (full list in table) are effective from March 1.
“Renault has one of the highest localisation done on the Kwid with 98 per cent at the time of launch. We are happy to pass on the benefits to new Duster customers making it more attractive across the range, enabled by our aggressive localisation strategy on the Duster as well,” said Sumit Sawhney, country CEO and managing director, Renault India Operations, on the price cut. ⌧
