The Porsche World Roadshow conducted at the BIC, gave enthusiasts the chance to put their cars to the test
ONE WHOLE DAY ON A TRACK WITH a car sporting a few hundred horses, isn't that everyone's dream? Porsche India made it happen for prospective buyers and owners by giving them an opportunity to take part in the Porsche World Roadshow (PWRS). The event took place across eight days at the Buddh International Circuit, where more than 300 guests were invited to get an experience of Porsche cars on track as well as off-road. Amidst the PWRS was also the launch of the eighth generation of the German carmaker's iconic 911.
The fleet of 26 cars was made up of models like the 718, Panamera, Macan, Cayennne, and the newly launched 911, pretty much covering Porsche's entire line-up. The exhilarating track performance saw many cars being drifted around the sweeping corners of the 5.14km FIA-certified track. Track exercises conducted by Porsche also included handling, slalom, braking, and of course high-speed laps to test the limits of their cars. After all, the racetrack is the natural habitat for any Porsche and getting a first-hand experience can leave a driver totally spellbound.
There was also an off-roading experience for the Macan and Cayenne. The SUVs were driven around a fun yet challenging trail which tested
the SUV's off-roading prowess. And there's more reason to be happy as Porsche India plans to conduct similar events so that enthusiasts get more than just one opportunity to get their car out on a track. “Porsche India will be bringing more of these experiential events to the country, especially in a year of such exciting model launches. These experience-focused days are also an opportunity for guests to amplify their driving skills in terms of safety as the Porsche World Road Show allows participants to get more familiar with sports cars, under the watchful eyes of official instructors,” said Pavan Shetty, director of Porsche India.
So, if you're a deep-pocketed supercar enthusiast, you now have a good reason to get yourself a Porsche knowing that you would have a chance to drive not only in the humdrum of a big city, but also around enthralling race tracks and exciting off-roading trails.
