Hero Xtreme 200R
The Xtreme has just come back from its first service and it sounds like something C S Santosh would ride
ANOTHER RIDE UP TO THE Lavasa hills saw the service light on the Xtreme’s cluster pop up, indicating that it was due for its first service. It’s pretty frustrating to be limiting my speed and revs while running the motorcycle in and I was more than happy to get it out of the way.
The Xtreme was whisked away to a service centre to the other side of town for an oil change. However, when I got the motorcycle back from the service centre, the service light was still on and the bike sounded like
it was running a performance air filter. As much as I would have liked this, what has probably happened is that the air filter hasn’t been reattached properly after the service. It’s entertaining to listen to, there are now flat-spots between 3000-4000rpm and performance isn’t up to the mark. The Xtreme will have to make another trip to the service centre very soon. I’m going to miss the heads that turn everytime I’m blasting down the street and the confused faces when they see the Xtreme, though.
That aside, I have got no complaints about the Xtreme. Maruti Suzuki has borrowed by Ciaz long termer for a while and that means I‘m getting more saddle time on the motorcycle. I had taken it up to Lavasa on another ride out of town just before the service and I will report back to you with an update very soon. We’re regularly updating our website with our long terms too, so catch us online! ⌧
