Evo India - - BAJA ARAGON 2019 - WORDS by HARI KUDCHADKAR

THE SCHEDULE FOR THE race weekend had to be revised due to the heavy rain that did not die down until afternoon. This meant the practice and qualifying sessions for all classes had to be shortened to accommodate the races before track closure. Mumbai’s Saurav Bandyopadhyay who was second in the championship after round two, won the first race of the weekend on a drying track with Bengaluru’s Shubhomoy Ball in second place.

Pratik Sonawane, who led the championship after round two, took home a third place finish and also won the last race. For Pratik, it was a comeback from his crash in race two which was on a soaking wet track. Hyderabad’s Jeet Jhabakh took advantage of Pratik’s crash and charged ahead for the race win. Fortunately, Pratik’s Ameo was fixed just in time for the last race of the weekend, giving him a fighting chance to climb the podium. Even though Pratik was forced to alter his fast line due to the puddles, he was still quick enough to win the race. Siddharth Mehdiratta finished in second place. ⌧
