BMW X7

BMW has launched their flagship SUV, the X7 in India. Available in two variants (xDrive30d and xDrive40i), the X7 is BMW's largest offering ever and will seat seven. The xDrive40i makes its way to India as a CBU while the xDrive30d will be produced locally. With a focus on space, luxury and technology, even the new X7 features the largest kidney grille BMW has ever fitted to one of its production cars – the BMW logo is also much larger. The X7 follows on from a concept car launched at the Frankfurt motor show that previewed BMW's intention to make a big, premium SUV to sit above the X5, and is set to take on the Range Rover Sport and the Mercedes-Benz GLS.

JEEP WRANGLER

Jeep has launched the 2019 Wrangler in India and it sheds some kilos compared to its predecessor. While the body is still made of steel, Jeep has ditched the old doors, bonnet and fenders to replace it with lighter aluminium parts. The highlight of the SUV is the iconic seven-slat grille and classic round headlamps with LED units on either side. It still carries the butch boxy silhouette like its popular ancestors. On the inside, the new Wrangler comes with plenty of updates. The new 8.4-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 4C NAV steals the spotlight with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. The cabin gets new premium leather upholstery and a dashboard with soft-touch leather and contrast stitching. The SUV gets just a solitary engine option, the 2-litre turbo petrol engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

NISSAN KICKS XE DIESEL

Nissan has launched a new entry-level diesel variant of the Kicks. Christened ‘XE', the variant will sit below the Xl variant and will be one among four diesel and two petrol variants. The Kicks XE gets a 1.5-litre diesel engine, generating maximum power of 108bhp and will come with dual airbags with ABS, EBD and brake assist as standard. The XE variant undercuts the base diesel variants of both the Hyundai Creta as well as the Renault Captur. Nissan's infotainment and connectivity suite is available across petrol and diesel variants of the Kicks. 50+ NissanConnect features including geofencing, speed alert, curfew alert, Locate My Car and Share My Car Location, address the rising concerns regarding the safety and security of car users along with the control and well-being of the vehicle.
