X1, set, go!

Sea­son one of the X1 Rac­ing League will have both In­dian and In­ter­na­tional male and fe­male driv­ers

SEA­SON ONE OF THE X1 Rac­ing League, India’s first fran­chise-based mo­tor­sports league, will in­clude 30 in­ter­na­tional and In­dian rac­ers di­vided into six teams, with cham­pi­ons like Ar­jun Maini, Narain Karthikeya­n, and Gau­rav Gill tak­ing part.

Team Black Birds, Hy­der­abad, has Euro GT4 racer Akhil Rabindra lead­ing the charge, with Team Ban­ga­lore Rac­ing Stars pick­ing F2 racer Ar­jun Maini and Mum­bai Fal­cons choos­ing his brother Kush, him­self an es­tab­lished kart­ing cham­pion. Oth­ers in­clude Bri­tish F3 racer Kr­ishna Ma­hadik (DG Rac­ing, Ahmed­abad), Gau­rav Gill (Team AD Rac­ing, Delhi) and Su­per­speed Chennai auto-pick­ing their team owner Narain Karthikeya­n.

The male in­ter­na­tional rac­ers in­clude Bri­tain’s Oliver Webb (Ben­galuru), Malaysian Alex Yoong (Ahmed­abad), Aus­trian Mathias Lauda (Delhi), China’s Frankie Cheng (Chennai), for­mer Ital­ian F1 racer Vi­tan­to­nio Li­uzzi (Hy­der­abad) and Dan­ish Mikkel Jensen (Mum­bai). Each team also has a strong fe­male racer, like Den­mark’s Michelle Gat­ting (Ben­galuru), UK’s Pippa Mann (Mum­bai) and Alice Pow­ell (Chennai), Switzer­land’s Ra­hel Frey (Ahmed­abad), Den­mark’s Christina Neilsen (Delhi) and Poland’s Gosia Rdest (Hy­der­abad).

The do­mes­tic ros­ter in­cludes Ar­jun Balu and Yash Arad­hya (Chennai), Raghul Ran­gaswamy and Ash­win Datta (Delhi), Chittesh Man­dody and Ameya Walavalkar (Ahmed­abad), So­hil Shah and Karthik Tha­ranis­ingh (Mum­bai), Vishnu Prasad and Nayan Chat­ter­jee (Ben­galuru) and Ar­jun Naren­dran and Anin­dith Reddy (Hy­der­abad).

The X1 Rac­ing League kicks off on Novem­ber 30 at the Buddh In­ter­na­tional Cir­cuit, Greater Noida, with the next race on De­cem­ber 7 at the Madras Mo­tor Race Track, Chennai. ⌧
