2020 Hyundai Creta

A huge departure from its predecessor in pretty much every aspect, the all-new Creta is just round the corner

THE 2020 CRETA WILL ADOPT THE ENGINES THAT ARE ALREADY SEEN IN THE KIA SELTOS

THE ALL-NEW HYUNDAI CRETA IS HERE! Working on the motto of ‘Sensuous Sportiness’, the new Creta now shows off a tighter, more angular overall look, a far cry from the ‘soft-roader’ origins of its predecessor. Prices for the new Creta are not yet out, and we expect it will be launched in March 2020.

Viewed from the front, the first thing that strikes you is the cascading three-dimensional grille layout, flanked by boomerang-shaped DRLs, with the new slit-like LED headlights above them. The skid plates at the bottom, with the angular fog lamps, also impart a more grown-up look. The combination of the altered profile, roof rails and rear spoiler, along with the flared wheelarches and redesigned 17-inch alloys give it a more purposeful, SUV look. At the rear, the taillights as well as the distinctive badging and rear skid plate, lend the Creta a more rugged aesthetic, overall.

Within the cabin, the infotainment system is now equipped with BlueLink 1.5, Hyundai’s connected car system, which doubles up as a user interface, allowing for navigation coupled with alerts, location based services, as well as real-time vehicle status and vehicle service reminders. Another new feature is the full-size panoramic sunroof, which gives the cabin an airy and lighter feel.

Under the hood, the Creta will adopt the engines already seen in the Seltos so that means the 1.5-litre BS6 diesel with the option of a regular 6-speed automatic, the 1.5 petrol with a CVT option and the 1.4 turbo-petrol with a twin-clutch automatic option. In terms of the driving we expect the Creta to focus more on comfort and we will have a full drive report in the next issue of the magazine.
