YOU CAN CHOOSE FROM KNOX CE LEVEL 1, LEVEL 2 OR D3O ARMOUR AS WELL

ROYAL ENFIELD HAS FINALLY introduced the ‘Make Your Own’ platform and configurator for riding jackets. The process to go customise a jacket is extremely easy. You head to the MYO portal, choose jackets and then it’s pretty straightforward. You choose the base design, and the colour (if applicable). After this, you get to choose what armour you equip your jacket with. Based on the jacket you can choose chest armour as well. Your choices are KNOX CE Level 1 or 2 armour for the back, shoulder and below and KNOX CE Level 1 for the chest. If you don’t want to go the KNOX way, you can also choose D3O armour as well. You can also choose to not put armour at all. The same level of flexibility extends to the rain and thermal liners as well. For this review, we chose the Khardung La V2 jacket and specced it with the highest level of Knox armour. As advertised, you get a big box with all the armour and liners you specced your jacket with. The jacket is well-built with good stitching and high quality 600D polyester fabric. My only gripe with the jacket is that the armour pockets don’t have any retention system and this meant that I ended up putting my hand in the elbow armour pocket more times than one. The jacket has many storage pockets and a bunch of flaps to aid ventilation.

The best part of this initiative is that it doesn’t break the bank. RE does have some tempting discounts running on its store occasionally and I don’t see why the options in this catalogue won’t just increase with time. So for this, Royal Enfield gets a thumbs up! ⌧
