LAMBORGHINI REVUELTO
Lamborghini’s first plug-in hybrid has finally arrived in India! Say hello to the Revuelto, which also happens to be the most expensive Lamborghini to ever go on sale in India. This Aventador replacement is powered by a new 6.5-litre V12 engine, three electric motors, and a 3.8kWh lithiumion battery. In terms of performance, the naturally aspirated V12 engine produces 814bhp and 725Nm of torque and produces 1001bhp when combined with the electric motors. Power is sent to all four wheels via a new 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Lamborghini claim a 0-100kmph time of 2.5 seconds and a top speed of more than 350kmph.
The Panamera gets a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 mill that produces 348bhp and 500Nm, 23bhp/50Nm more in this RWD configuration that goes on sale in India. 0-100kmph in 5.1 seconds and a top speed of 270kmph makes it a quick sport sedan but we’d also like the plug-in hybrid V8 in India.
LOTUS ELETRE
Lotus entered India with what it calls the nation’s fastest and most expensive electric SUV. It has three trims. The standard and S (595bhp, 710Nm) have a range of 600km, while the more powerful R (893bhp, 985Nm) has a 490km range. All-wheel-drive and active air suspension are standard and all three models get a 112kWh battery.
SKODA ELEGANCE EDITION
Skoda showcased a matte black version of the Kushaq and Slavia a month ago. This month, the gloss black versions of the cars have debuted. Dubbed the Elegance Edition, it is based on the 1.5-litre TSI’s Style trim and gets only a Deep Black colour. Exterior changes include a chrome garnish on the front grille and trunk. Puddle lamps are also a standard feature now. The cars also get an ‘Elegance’ badge on the B-pillar as well as the steering wheel. The ‘Elegance’ badge is also carried over to the seat belt cover, headrests and rear seat cushions.
VOLKSWAGEN SOUND EDITION
Audiophiles rejoice – the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus now have a Sound Edition. Based on the 1-litre TSI’s Topline trim, this edition gets a new subwoofer, an amplifier and a standard 6-speaker setup. The B-pillar and tweeters on A-pillar have a ‘Sound’ badge, while the C-pillar has equaliser graphics. The Topline trim has also been updated with a new Deep Black Pearl option and features such as an electrically adjustable passenger seat, puddle lamps and footwell lighting. The Sound Edition includes everything except the new black colour.
