FICCIs Indian Business Delegation at Xth International IT Forum
FICCI along with several industry members and senior government officials, participated in the Xth International IT Forum at Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia on 5-6 June 2018. Organized by the administrators of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Ugra region and Government of Russia, the forum brought together industry leaders from BRICS and SCO nations as well as other countries to interact and discuss collaboration in the fields of Information Technology and Digital Transformation.
FICCI received an award for its support and active participation at the forum consecutively for two years. The 20-member Indian delegation, which was supported by Indian Embassy at Russia, participated in the sector-specific seminars and B2G and B2B sessions organized by FICCI at the India Pavilion. The prime objective of the visit was to leverage on the unique strengths of the Indian IT industry potential and Russia's innovative products. The delegation members also explored the partnership and business opportunities in digital and disruptive technologies.
During the opening ceremony of the forum, Alok Raj, Minister (Education), Indian Embassy at Russia, highlighted the importance of ICT and digital skilling, and how it will become even more important with growing strategic collaborations in various sectors. He emphasized on the importance of strategic partnership between India and Russia.
With the objective to showcase the strength of Indian information technology, start-ups and electronics industry, members of India delegation participated as exhibitors under the India Pavilion. Further, senior members of Indian delegation gave presentations covering crucial topics. The delegation met senior officials from the Government of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Ugra to discuss potential areas for future cooperation.
More than 1,500 participants from 55 countries, participated in the forum, which has established itself as an international venue for discussion of key issues in development and implementation of digital economy in the region.
