FICCIs In­dian Busi­ness Del­e­ga­tion at Xth In­ter­na­tional IT Fo­rum

FICCI along with sev­eral in­dus­try members and se­nior gov­ern­ment of­fi­cials, par­tic­i­pated in the Xth In­ter­na­tional IT Fo­rum at Khanty-Man­siysk, Rus­sia on 5-6 June 2018. Or­ga­nized by the ad­min­is­tra­tors of Khanty-Man­siysk Au­ton­o­mous Okrug-Ugra re­gion and Gov­ern­ment of Rus­sia, the fo­rum brought to­gether in­dus­try lead­ers from BRICS and SCO na­tions as well as other coun­tries to in­ter­act and dis­cuss col­lab­o­ra­tion in the fields of In­for­ma­tion Tech­nol­ogy and Dig­i­tal Trans­for­ma­tion.

FICCI re­ceived an award for its sup­port and ac­tive par­tic­i­pa­tion at the fo­rum con­sec­u­tively for two years. The 20-mem­ber In­dian del­e­ga­tion, which was sup­ported by In­dian Em­bassy at Rus­sia, par­tic­i­pated in the sec­tor-spe­cific sem­i­nars and B2G and B2B ses­sions or­ga­nized by FICCI at the In­dia Pavil­ion. The prime ob­jec­tive of the visit was to lever­age on the unique strengths of the In­dian IT in­dus­try po­ten­tial and Rus­sia's in­no­va­tive prod­ucts. The del­e­ga­tion members also ex­plored the part­ner­ship and busi­ness op­por­tu­ni­ties in dig­i­tal and dis­rup­tive tech­nolo­gies.

Dur­ing the open­ing cer­e­mony of the fo­rum, Alok Raj, Minister (Ed­u­ca­tion), In­dian Em­bassy at Rus­sia, high­lighted the im­por­tance of ICT and dig­i­tal skilling, and how it will be­come even more im­por­tant with grow­ing strate­gic col­lab­o­ra­tions in var­i­ous sec­tors. He em­pha­sized on the im­por­tance of strate­gic part­ner­ship be­tween In­dia and Rus­sia.

With the ob­jec­tive to show­case the strength of In­dian in­for­ma­tion tech­nol­ogy, start-ups and elec­tron­ics in­dus­try, members of In­dia del­e­ga­tion par­tic­i­pated as ex­hibitors un­der the In­dia Pavil­ion. Fur­ther, se­nior members of In­dian del­e­ga­tion gave pre­sen­ta­tions cov­er­ing cru­cial top­ics. The del­e­ga­tion met se­nior of­fi­cials from the Gov­ern­ment of Khanty-Man­siysk Au­ton­o­mous Okrug-Ugra to dis­cuss po­ten­tial ar­eas for fu­ture co­op­er­a­tion.

More than 1,500 par­tic­i­pants from 55 coun­tries, par­tic­i­pated in the fo­rum, which has es­tab­lished it­self as an in­ter­na­tional venue for dis­cus­sion of key is­sues in devel­op­ment and im­ple­men­ta­tion of dig­i­tal econ­omy in the re­gion.
