-

Bhumi Pednekar is undoubtedly one of the most promising actresses in Bollywood today. From playing an overweight woman who faces issues in her married life to someone who highlights the importance of sanitation, one who finds out that her fiancé has erectile dysfunction and a house help in a sexual relationship with a young man in the house, she is known for the choices she has made with exceptional content. Bhumi also stands out from the rest for her amazing acting skills. Every performance of hers has been lauded by fans as well as critics as she has time and again managed to wow audiences by her transformation in every single film.

On being asked if she feels blessed to be working in the golden era of content and actors, Bhumi says, “I think like any other fraternity, we have also gone through an evolution and I feel good content is the only way cinema should happen. By good content, I mean the films have to be entertaining too and they must be loved by people. It has to be new and unique for audience. Not the same old story that is told in a different form and there has to be something new age and refreshing about the story and theme and I’m glad in the last couple of years the era of good content has started.”

Bhumi is also one of the first few Bollywood actors to have explored the field of OTT platforms with Lust stories while even the most popular superstars hesitated to do so. The actress portrayed the character of Sudha the maid for which she received rave reviews. Talking about the good content cinemas in Bollywood, she said, “With the reach of OTT platforms so wide now, we know that we have to push the boundaries with our films because that is the only way we will get people into theatres. Today is I feel there has been a switch in power, earlier actors had a lot of power in their hands and now it has gone in the hands of the directors and writers and that is how it should be. They are the visionaries and we are the doers. I am very happy that my films have been a part of this change and really hope that everything in the future also adds onto it because we have to give good meaningful cinema to the world.”
