SAIL sup­plies 12,000 MT of steel for Statue of Unity

(sail) has claimed that it has sup­plied

50 per­cent steel for the con­struc­tion of the statue of unity, the world’s tallest statue of in­dian in­de­pen­dence move­ment leader sar­dar Val­lab­hb­hai Pa­tel. The 182-me­tre statue was un­veiled by prime min­is­ter naren­dra Modi on oc­to­ber 31.

out of the to­tal 24,000 met­ric tonnes (MT) of steel re­quired for the con­struc­tion of this statue, sail has sup­plied around 12,000 MT of steel.

The to­tal quan­tity of steel sup­plied by sail in­cludes re­in­forced steel like TMT bars as well as struc­tural and plates.
