Monkey business

Governance Now - - BRIEFINGS -

To deal with the increasing money menace in the parliament area, the Lok sabha secretariat has issued a circular giving some tips. it asks the parliamentarians to not make a direct eye contact with monkeys and do not “irritate” them. it also strictly advises not to feed the monkeys and in case a monkey collides with their vehicle then do not stop. The circular also states that the monkeys’ “khokho sound” is normally a bluff and the parliamentarians should ignore it and walk away calmly. some other tips include:

• do not cross the path between a mother and her infant • do not run while passing through monkey groups • do not go near a dead or wounded monkey • do not hit the monkey. Keep hitting the ground with a big stick to make monkey leave your house or garden
