What should one ex­pect when the cream of the hair and beauty in­dus­try come to­gether un­der one roof? Sheer ex­cel­lence, to say the least. The Mumbai edi­tion of Hair Mas­ters Lux­ury Sa­lon gives you that, with four of the best names in the in­dus­try—Amanda Car­valho, El­ton Steve Ves­soaker, Asif Mo­hammed, and Vi­nati Be­hal—tak­ing up roles as the sa­lon’s Art Di­rec­tors.

As soon as you step in, you’re sure to be pretty im­pressed by the sheer length and breadth of the space. If cramped up spa­ces aren’t your thing, then this place is more than a wel­come respite. Hair Mas­ters Lux­ury Sa­lon of­fers a range of hair, skin, beauty, nails, and make-up ser­vices. Keep­ing the fes­tive sea­son in mind, I thought why not go in for a quick makeover. Let’s get a new hair colour!

And a ‘makeover’ it has been in­deed. Asif Mo­hammed lit­er­ally gave my rather drab brown locks a re­newed bout of life and vigour. Us­ing the balayage tech­nique, my hair was treated with a global of Wella Kole­ston’s light brown and vi­o­let in­tense hues, with a few high­lights of red. And, of course, the pow­er­dose treat­ment was done to lock in the colour. I had al­ways been a lit­tle ap­pre­hen­sive about get­ting a global colour, but af­ter see­ing how stun­ningly gor­geous my hair looks now, I’m pretty sure I’ll be go­ing the same route the next time around again. Of course, if you’re get­ting such a sexy fash­ion colour, please be sure that it may bleed for the first few washes. So, please don’t fret, and please don’t use light-coloured tow­els to dry your hair. While get­ting my hair colour treat­ment, I couldn’t help but ob­serve the ut­most level of per­sonal at­ten­tion the Art Di­rec­tors gave to each of the clients at the sa­lon. Also what’s im­pres­sive is that while there are four Art Di­rec­tors at the sa­lon, nei­ther of them seemed to be in­ter­fer­ing in each other’s space and work.

As a client, the few things that I look for­ward to when I visit a sa­lon are: a de­cent-enough space for me to sit and en­joy my treat­ment, a stylist or ex­pert who is go­ing to be able to an­swer all my queries and ques­tions (and, trust me, there’s a rather long list of them!), and ut­most hy­giene. Hair Mas­ters Lux­ury Sa­lon pretty-much matched up to all of these pa­ram­e­ters.
