Professional Beauty-The Mumbai Diary
With it’s 25th edition held in Mumbai on Oct 1 and 2, Professional Beauty bids a record-breaking farewell to 2018.
Professional Beauty Mumbai, part of the Professional Beauty Global group, broke all records for a show in South Asia. Bringing over 170 exhibitors together, 500+ brands from over a dozen countries and a mammoth 19,142 trade visitors, Professional Beauty Mumbai cemented itself as the third largest show within the group by visitor numbers in the world. In addition to our Associate Partner Ikonic and Official Make-up Partner Kryolan new brands showcasing themselves included Andis, Brand You, Cirepil, Dyson, Enail Couture, Gatsby, Mirabelle, LuxaDerme, Mintree, Streax, Swiss Beauty, and Zanya Wellness amongst others. On the Demo Stage, several live hairstyling, skin, make-up and nail shows were conducted by various experts for the audience. The Show also brought several international hairdressers, skincare experts and make-up artists on an interactive platform, which allowed people from across the industry and country to look and learn. Visitors could interact directly with the experts and ask questions about the techniques and products. This also gave the brands a chance to get live feedback about their products from end users. Salon India also saw its third edition hosted at Professional Beauty, with look-n-learn sessions from hair maestros such as Seema V. Jerajani, Founder, SVJ Academy; Savio John Pereira, Founder, Savio John Pereira Salon; Nayana Karunaratne, Chairperson, Salon Nayana Chain of Salons and SN Academies in Sri Lanka & India; Michel Baltazar of Jean Claude Biguine Salons, Julia Siira of Streax Professional and the Olaplex team. Two other staples at Professional Beauty also saw success—the Salon Management Congress (SMC) and Cosmetics Ingredients and Packaging India Show (CIPI). The former was targeted at salon owners and entrepreneurs, and included panel discussions that focussed on critical issues and experiences of managing a salon business. The panel of experts included industry mavericks such as Adhuna Bhabani, Asha Hariharan, Rekha Chaudhari, Miriam Mathew, Natasha Nischol, Samir Srivastava, Vikram Bhatt and Vipul Chudasama amongst others. CIPI on the other hand brought cosmetic manufacturers and suppliers of raw materials, ingredients, packaging and labelling solutions, private label and contract manufacturers together, giving them a platform to interact directly and understand each other’s needs. The Mumbai edition bade farewell as the largest show ever seen in South Asia, giving beauty professionals an unparalleled platform to interact, learn and grow. With a record-breaking last show, Professional Beauty is now looking forward to building a bigger and more innovative show in 2019.
