Jewellery behemoth Ghanasingh Be True collaborates with designer Maheka Mirpuri on a line of modern baubles

-

Jewellery label Ghanasingh Be True and leading Maheka Mirpuri have recently collaborated on a line of limited-edition fine jewellery.

Ghanasingh, the label’s creative director, picked the Mumbai-based designer because of her eye for style. Mirpuri, in turn, relied on her experience of dressing stars like Sonakshi Sinha, Parineeti Chopra, Deepika Padukone, and Sridevi, to name a few, while giving her inputs for the jewellery label. Comprising a mix of bridal chokers, bold chandelier earrings, contemporary cocktail rings, and intricate cuffs, the pieces are crafted as heirlooms, and are made from the most exquisite Burmese rubies, South Sea pearls, black diamonds, Colombian emeralds, and uncut diamonds.

“At Ghanasingh Be True, we are constantly looking for something that will take our label to the next level, and this collaboration promises to do just that,” says Gautam Ghanasingh. “Moreover the decision to launch a collection in collaboration with Maheka was an easy one, as we needed someone to complement my technical know-how in the jewellery industry.” Of the collection’s many striking pieces, one that really stands out is a 20-carat, pear-shaped Burmese ruby necklace bordered by diamonds and a triple string of South Sea pearls. “Our constant endeavour is to create designs that reflect our innovation and appeal to the modern woman who is absolutely sure of what she wants,” says Gautam. The collection hits Ghanasingh’s Mumbai flagship in Bandra in August.
