Maldivian rhapsody
Everyone has vacationed on an island resort. But Kuda Huraa, with its sense of LUXURIOUS PRIVACY, is simply beyond, finds Varun Rana.
If you were to ask me the one true luxury I crave for, I wouldn’t think twice before saying privacy. We’ve become so attuned to the busy-ness of the world around us, constantly bombarding us with information and stimuli, that we have quite forgotten the taste of solitude. So had I, till I found myself on a beautiful, secluded Maldivian atoll called Kuda Huraa, 400 kilometres south-west of the coastline of Kerala, and over 2,700 kilometres away from my home-city, New Delhi.
Kuda Huraa is really a resort, named The Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa. And this charming island, part of the 26-atoll double chain that forms the Republic of the Maldives, is at once luxurious and natural in a fecund, organic way. This was my escape from reality in April this year.
