that it is dar­ing and not dic­tated by the opin­ions of oth­ers. He has a won­der­ful mind, and the tech­ni­cal as­pects of his work are be­com­ing bet­ter with time. He has also held two solo shows in Paris over the last two years.

The other work draw­ing my at­ten­tion is by the Azer­bai­jani artist Faig Ahmed, in par­tic­u­lar, his work with tra­di­tional Azer­bai­jani rugs, which is an ob­ject so iconic and cen­tral to the Mid­dle East. He dis­as­sem­bles them and re­ar­ranges them in a ran­dom or­der and some­times cre­ates sculp­tures with them. It’s a com­ment he is try­ing to make on cul­ture, so­ci­ety, and struc­ture. Ahmed’s tech­nique is strong and con­sis­tent, and has grown or­gan­i­cally over the years. Both of them are must-sees for all art lovers.
