Psoriatic arthritis. An estimated 10 to 30% of people who have psoriasis develop psoriatic arthritis, a debilitating joint condition. Let your doctor know right away if you have stiff or sore joints, especially when you wake up. This is a sign of psoriatic arthritis. Although there’s no formal screening for the condition, your doctor should ask you about joint pain or discomfort and observe your movements. Elevated blood pressure increases your risk of heart disease, diabetes and stroke. High cholesterol predisposes you to heart disease and stroke.
