“I had rheumatoid arthritis in childhood, but I wanted to be a wrestler. I remember walking with a stick and people laughing at me. I went to watch kushti in an akhada in my village. I was nine then, and the coach laughed at me, saying, ‘If you can stand on your feet, that would be your biggest achievement’. He asked me to forget wrestling. I was depressed. I didn’t step out of the house for two days after that. But my mother motivated me and from that day, there was no looking back. I had set a goal and was focused. I stood up on my feet, worked hard and today, I am doing well. “You can only overcome your fears when you face them. According to me, winner is the one who never gives up.”
