What is the connection between weight gain and marriage?

Radhika Menon, New Mumbai There is no connection between marriage and weight gain! Gaining weight is not a byproduct of marriage. If that happens, it is because the motivation to lose weight or get into shape for the big day has now passed. The wedding parties, honeymoon, post wedding celebrations add to that as well. After which if one isn’t diligent and stops following a sound nutrition plan and engaging in regular exercise, the weight just piles up. Truthfully, it isn’t marriage per se, but the lifestyle that you follow post marriage that leads to weight gain. Regular exercise and sensible, nutritious, balanced meals will keep your weight and body composition in check not only post marriage but post motherhood as well.
