Bhumika Chawla is still remembered for her amazing debut performance in ‘Tere Naam’, opposite Salman Khan, and her many commendable roles in the South. After a hiatus, she will now be seen again on the big screen in ‘Khamoshi’ with Prabhudeva and Tamanna. She cues us in on what keeps her looking so gorgeous and fit…

Look-Fit Secret

“My fitness credit goes to Yash, my little one. I keep running behind him all day. I am a hands-on mom, and am anyways an active person, even if I am not working out. I like to do things around the house and be busy all the time. “Even though I do not work out on a daily basis, I try to fit in exercise in my schedule as and when I get the time. I either practice yoga, or go for my kick boxing sessions. If I don’t do anything, I jog around the house for 30-40 minutes. “On days when I have just no time to spare, I try to take the stairs, instead of the

lift. I believe that something is always better than no exercise at all.”

Diet

“I don’t follow any particular diet plan, but I try to make sure I include certain things in my diet. For example; in the morning, I have almonds or water soaked with ladyfinger. It is really good for the bones. Slit the ladyfinger lengthwise into four pieces and soak it in water. Drink just the water in the morning. I have nimbu pani and coconut water regularly. I also eat fruits like papaya and banana in the morning. “During the day, I eat green leafy vegetables, pulses and a roti.”

Beauty Tips

“My skin tends to dry when I am travelling. I apply coconut oil to tackle that. And when I am shooting and have to clean my makeup, I use cleansing milk or normal oil, post which I wash my face. “I also use an under eye cream. If I don’t have my creams, I make sure I wash my skin and use coconut oil on it. “On days when I have ample time, I mix milk, malai, honey and turmeric, apply it on the face and leave it on for a while, before washing it off. It’s the best skincare technique. “And yes, with increasing pollution in the city, I leave the house only after applying sunscreen. But the most important aspect for healthy looking skin is to be happy. Being happy from inside shows on your skin and hair. You can have all the dry fruits, treatments or do exercises. But until you are happy and calm from the inside, it won’t show on your face.”
