An in­spir­ing weight loss tale by a ‘H&N’ reader

Iam glad to have picked up your Novem­ber 2017 issue. This is the first time I read your mag­a­zine and I just loved it and I loved it even more when I no­ticed the ‘Suc­cess Story’ be­cause I have one to share of my own. “I have lost 42 kgs over a pe­riod of one-and-a-half years. I was quite chubby from child­hood. But things got re­ally worse from 2011 to mid 2016. I had been ig­nor­ing my health. I had never worked out be­fore and af­ter school, and wasn’t in­volved in any sports or phys­i­cal ac­tiv­ity ei­ther. Grad­u­ally, I be­came more and more obese and I started los­ing in­ter­est in all my favourite ac­tiv­i­ties. I weighed 125 kgs! “Not be­ing able to en­joy my ev­ery­day life, I re­alised I was very un­happy with my­self. Dur­ing that time, I got a won­der­ful book by Ru­juta Di­wekar ti­tled ‘Don’t Lose Your Mind, Lose Your Weight’, which lit­er­ally changed my life. I read it care­fully and started fol­low­ing the right eat­ing habits, which in­cluded eat­ing six-seven times a day. I started in­clud­ing rice, ghee, oil, peanuts, man­goes, ba­nanas which are con­sid­ered bad in so called di­ets. I was en­joy­ing my food, eat­ing ev­ery­thing, not starv­ing and los­ing weight too. Ev­ery­body was stunned by this suc­cess, es­pe­cially my fam­ily mem­bers. “Af­ter I came around 92 kgs, I bought an­other of Ru­juta’s book ‘Don’t Lose Out, Work Out!’ Though I lost weight, I was still struggling with de­pres­sion but af­ter I started work­ing out, my de­pres­sion dis­ap­peared within a week! I hit jack­pot! I was stunned by the ef­fect ex­er­cise had on me. I had never been so happy in my life! Today, I am en­joy­ing my life more than ever be­fore... It feels amaz­ing and I am al­ways full of en­ergy. “I want to tell all those struggling with de­pres­sion: Give ex­er­cise a try and see how it feels... Ex­er­cise not just helped me lose weight; it changed the way I look at life. I am en­joy­ing my work, and have be­come more calm and peace­ful. “Today, I weigh 83 kgs and I be­lieve that so­lu­tions are very sim­ple if we want to achieve some­thing. So just go af­ter your goal!”
