What Does Fitness Mean To You? For An Athlete, Fitness Is As Important As Each And Every Bout/ Game You Fight. For Me, Keeping Myself Fit And Healthy Is The Best Preparation For My Long-term Goals.
What is your current fitness regime? After the World Championship, I had intense discussion with my coach and physical trainer about my training regime. Currently, I follow a welldisciplined six days a week training module where three days are for mat training and three days for conditioning training.
What does your diet comprise? Any cheat foods? Earlier, I used to follow my akhada’s diet which majorly comprises milk, almonds, ghee, raisins, dry fruits etc. But now, my diet changes as per the demands of my competition. As pehelwans, we have to keep our weights in check. My coach and trainer never put any restrictions on my food, so I can eat whatever as long as I keep my balance between protein and carbohydrates, and weight in check. Only during competitions, they tell me not to overeat.
Your most challenging match till date? I take every game, every bout, every fight as a challenge. I always learn and grow more as an athlete with every bout I fight.
Your favourite workout? My favourite workout is uttha baitha which is also known as burpees. My training is incomplete without it.
Your dream? My dream in life is to get that Gold Medal in the Olympics.
