What Does Fit­ness Mean To You? For An Ath­lete, Fit­ness Is As Im­por­tant As Each And Ev­ery Bout/ Game You Fight. For Me, Keep­ing My­self Fit And Healthy Is The Best Prepa­ra­tion For My Long-term Goals.

What is your cur­rent fit­ness regime? Af­ter the World Cham­pi­onship, I had in­tense dis­cus­sion with my coach and phys­i­cal trainer about my train­ing regime. Cur­rently, I fol­low a welld­is­ci­plined six days a week train­ing mod­ule where three days are for mat train­ing and three days for con­di­tion­ing train­ing.

What does your diet com­prise? Any cheat foods? Ear­lier, I used to fol­low my akhada’s diet which ma­jorly com­prises milk, al­monds, ghee, raisins, dry fruits etc. But now, my diet changes as per the de­mands of my com­pe­ti­tion. As pe­hel­wans, we have to keep our weights in check. My coach and trainer never put any re­stric­tions on my food, so I can eat what­ever as long as I keep my bal­ance be­tween pro­tein and car­bo­hy­drates, and weight in check. Only dur­ing com­pe­ti­tions, they tell me not to overeat.

Your most chal­leng­ing match till date? I take ev­ery game, ev­ery bout, ev­ery fight as a chal­lenge. I al­ways learn and grow more as an ath­lete with ev­ery bout I fight.

Your favourite work­out? My favourite work­out is ut­tha baitha which is also known as burpees. My train­ing is in­com­plete with­out it.

Your dream? My dream in life is to get that Gold Medal in the Olympics.
