Asci­en­tific study pro­vides the per­fect ex­cuse for women if you’re hop­ing to catch up on some ex­tra sleep. It turns out that hav­ing a lie-in could be bet­ter for women than for men, ac­cord­ing to re­search pub­lished in a jour­nal on en­docrinol­ogy. Sleep­ing longer was found to lower the risk of di­a­betes for women, but bizarrely had the op­po­site ef­fect on men, ac­cord­ing to the study ex­am­in­ing the link be­tween gen­der, sleep and in­sulin lev­els.
